If I've Ever Needed You Badly, Tonight I Need You the Most
Sitting here in this lonely car,
I realize how the weather reflects my mood.
The rainy window panes and the grey-stained sky,
My tear-ridden face and my swollen eyes
Everything that's been happening lately,
all of it swirls in my head like a mixing pot,
waiting to send the world into a paradigm shift.
I'm clutching onto myself for comfort,
the seatbelt does not simulate the warmth of arms that I need
My knees slowly draw themselves up to my chest
and my arms wrap around my head and bury it in my lap.
Slowly, my arms drop back down and I unclench myself.
I take off my seat belt and flip around,
facing the soft velvety plush car seat,
I lay down and burrow myself into the seat,
wishing against all odds that it was your warm chest
with your arms surrounding me,
protecting me, sheilding me from all this sickening madness
I start crying again as the rain thickens,
the bruises and wounds mean nothing to me now,
as I'm fading away into my dream world, with no one but you and me
and wide open skies.
The world is our canvas
our love is the paint
and our arms are the brushes as we bring this beautiful masterpiece into life.
We're sitting under a large oak tree, just holding onto one another,
no one is saying a word,
because our smiles say it all.
She hits a bump in the road
and I am awakened once more.
I think of the paradise and bliss I experience when I close my eyes.
