Any Game can have a bad start but still be a good game, Fable is a good example of this. A good portion of the gaming community complained that fable was a bad game, the original one that is. However, bare bones, it was a good game with an engaging (Though stereotypical) Story, wonderful choices, and a fun fighting system.
Fable 2 removed the bad and added much good, however the series is still looked down upon because of high expectation and overhype.
Now With Fable 3 in Production, the world of Albion hitting it's industrial revolution, it's a wonder how the latest installment will play out. Rumors of Project Natal compatibility in a sword fighting game, (and magic, and guns) sounds well enough, but it will also be controlled using a controller.
Who knows?

I love Fable and will defend it to the death. It's not the best game in the world but damn it it's a good fun one and Fable 2 was very enjoyable in opinion

I want to even say fable 2 out preformed other games in it's genre, of course being beat out by Fallout 3 this year (Which is defensibly game of the year material, Bethesda rocks) But it's is trying to set a standard that I hope will carry on to F3

The problem that people apparently have with Fable is not that it is a bad game., but an overhyped game. Apparently, Lionhead Studios made a bunch of claims about the game while it was in production, but when the game was released, these claims did not come true. People who complain about it mostly say that it is an okay game, but it did not live up to expectations. I personally haven't played all too much of it, but it did not seem all so bad. I also got no hype on it, so I don't have that risk of disappointment. If you don't know much about Fable, there won't be much that will end up disappointing you.

Hence I try to stay away from hype news

Sometimes hype works well for a game, and sometimes it does not. Hyping a game is a risky thing to do.

They promised a dragon, hats, and a dog in fable 1
They put them all into fable 2
Fable three might be epic

I liked the dog in fable 2 honestly it made it very easy to find treasures and all sorts of things that would have been very difficult. Does anyone have an opinion of Fable: Lost Chapters cuz that one i found to b very good

Usually updates do that. I guess some thought it wasn't worth the extra purchase..
